The first meeting ever held for the Golden Age Center was October 14th 1975. From that point on, a lot of planning, preparation and budgeting was done to make this dream a reality. After multiple funds, volunteering and hard work, the amazing seniors of this small town were capable of building a bowling alley in the Rec center 1986, and buying the building where they now regularly meet in 1992!
Committees, within the Club, are formed to create activities such as: crafts, card parties, suppers, triathlons (shuffle board, Kaiser and bean bag tournaments) Pool tournaments, acting (plays and skits) and lunches (soup and sandwiches) for the Wellness Program held on the first Monday of each month and find them selves taking year end trips. Previous locations are Stanly Mission, Diefenbaker Lake, Watrous etc. Everyday, one member is responsible to open the Center at 9:00 a.m.
